Jeffrey Dean Ulshafer

Jeffrey Dean Ulshafer, 41, South Whitley, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 24, 2016 in Laurel, Miss. where he had been staying prior to leaving for a job on an offshore oil platform.

He was born March 29, 1975 in Fort Wayne, a son of Jack D. and the late Kathleen (Paseka) Ulshafer. He grew-up in South Whitley and graduated from Whitko High School with the Class of 1993.

He held various factory positions in the area, most recently with Carlex Glass Co. in Ligonier.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1518, North Manchester. He loved his boys and enjoyed taking them camping at any opportunity.

He leaves behind three sons: Gavin, Devin and Grayson Ulshafer, North Manchester; his father: Jack Ulshafer, South Whitley; two sisters: Cindy Ulshafer, Seymour; and Teresa (Rick) Cokl, South Whitley; three nieces: Janelle Rhoades, Laura English and Kaylynn Keirn; and two nephews: Riley and Garrett Cokl.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister: Melissa “Missy” Ulshafer.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
